It may be the first time in history someone has run want-ads for a political candidate. Beginning Sunday, one of South Dakota’s five largest political action committees is running want ads for Republicans willing to mount a primary challenge in legislative elections. The ad’s headline reads:

About Us
Equality South Dakota Political Action Committee (EqSD PAC) is the political action committee for Equality South Dakota (EqSD), a South Dakota non-profit corporation. EqSD PAC is a voluntary, non-profit, unincorporated association operating as a separate, segregated organization of EqSD.
EqSD PAC serves the following purposes:
- To influence or attempt to influence the selection, nomination, election or appointment of an individual or individuals to federal, state or local office in order to further the interests of LGBT individuals and groups within South Dakota.
- To help support or oppose ballot propositions according to the goals and objectives of LGBT South Dakotans as determined by Equality South Dakota (EqSD).
• Add sexual orientation & gender identity to existing non-discrimination clauses. • Continue working for rights associated with civil unions. • Reach out to open and affirming faith communities. • Support and elect LGBT/Allied officials.
- To promote education and mobilization of South Dakotans.
